Good idea. They can detect the infection with a blood test, but since the cure only works if given the first 72 hours, I don't know if they could turn the lab around fast enough.
They'll give you the dose if they think it's a good idea.

If it was a Lyme bearing tick, a single dose of the prescription antibiotic,Β Doxycycline, can help, if taken within 72 hours of exposure. Why not check with your doctor?
At this point, the US Northeast, Great Lakes and West are areas where Lyme lurks.
