I have noticed many times that the total levels completed by different players is more than the levels completed on the actual cake. In this screenshot, 10 levels have been completed according to the player totals but only 8 show on the cake.

In your case, three players have baked 10 slices in total, but the cake has been baked 8 slices only.
I think it is because 2 slices have been double baked. For example, when a player is baking the recipe 5, the last one of first tier, the next player MUST bake the same one if he bakes the cake at the same time, because he cannot bake the recipe 6, the recipe at next tier, so the recipe 5 has been baked 2 times.
