I am always in favor of any kind of innovation in the game, as long as the changes make it easier for us to progress through the levels and don’t make us regret what has been changed. I almost never play the old levels unless there are contests, but I’m sure those too can be designed in a different and more innovative way with the changes you’re going to make. For me, it doesn’t make much difference if the gold pins are no longer there.

@LoFiGummy - I think you will find players will have certain favorite levels to help complete certain side events and we will take the time to scroll back.
The issue with replaying a recent event is that as u continue to advance in the game, the levels get harder and harder and you certainly don’t want to spend boosters or gold bars to help with earning new boosters in a side event.

Oh my, @LoFiGummy! I share the sentiments of other players. I won't miss the Golden Pins, but not being able to replay old levels is a really bad idea. I rely on playing old levels for many of the challenges in the 4-in-a-Row event, and I am willing to scroll dozens or hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of levels to get to my "favorite" levels for certain challenges.

There are several events that require playing new levels, such as Yeti's Challenge and Rocket Rush. The rewards for these events are enticing players to play new levels. I suggest more of these forward-looking events that offer players opportunities to win good bars and boosters. Do not eliminate the 4-in-a-Row event, and please continue to allow players to replay old levels. This is one of the few events that I play every day.

Ironically, in an attempt to get players to look forward, long-term players might instead turn their backs on this game completely.

I also sometimes go back to older levels to help with certain side events, so I can win boosters (very important in this game - especially in keeping all soda bottles filled) and I am far from the end of the map (more like in the middle).

Also the comment about contests is very valid. CCS removed scores and it has really hurt our flexibility in creating contests involving actually playing the game and eliminated the ability to earn certain badges.
If this change happened it would also really restrict contests where we ask the players to actually play the game.
Focusing solely on playing new levels will limit the playing pool because some players are stuck on levels, find the game hard, don’t have a lot of boosters and/or don’t spend any money on the game, so a contest where you have to play new levels only could stop them from entering.

Contests where we ask to collect a certain item (bottles, chocolate etc.) would probably not be very popular since a player might need to play quite a few new levels just to find an appropriate level and get a good amount of the item.

I know the studio probably isn’t as concerned about the community as opposed to players in general but I just wanted to share my opinion.

Win streaks will not be affected by this test and will continue to work as usual. And you're right in that this would change a lot in how Soda works, like helping players on specific levels.

That's a good point in that regard, but I'm positive we can find new ways of having contests that doesn't include older levels - so we'll still look to continue to host them and keep things fun and interactive for our players here.

However, I don't think it's right to remove the option to replay completed levels. I use old levels for the Bear Climb and for "4 in a Row" to earn boosters. If I no longer had this option, I would quit and delete the game. With only 45 new levels on Fridays, I can't win any side games. Either I quit the game immediately, or I only play on Fridays and waste my time boosters from the daily rewards on all the other days because I have nothing left to play (except the Mastery Levels after the pink door).

Another point is: Some players get stuck on levels and ask for a solution here in the community. How can we show the player a solution if we're no longer able to view the level ourselves?

Please don't misunderstand me, I'm always happy when studios develop new ideas. But this is rather frustrating for the players.

Hmm… Much fairer for newer Soda Players if we don't see any flexing with these gold pins. But… Disabling to replay previous levels would make CCSS players quit.

The implementation of your idea will be the last drop that will make the glass overflow and force me stop playing CCSS.

Can't go back to previous level means we can't hold any contest here to play previous level anymore. For example: in FHS we play level that contains number 12 to celebrate its 12th anniversary.

For the balancing of events, these are usually tested with groups of players, so unfortunately it's hard for us here in the community to update on all the changes, but I realize it must be frustrating when they change suddenly in the game.

On the topic of playing previous levels to complete events - are you going to specific levels way back for some events (you don't have to name specific ones 😅), or are you more replaying the ones that you just completed?

I'd imagine that it would be tough to scroll all the way back, and I guess it would be easier to remember how to complete more resent levels.

Good morning @LoFiGummy thank you for this update to the games. This updating trend in games and community seems to me never ending recently ... And usually really not in favour of members/players, I am afraid to say.

gold pins are no longer showing in your game and that you’re not able to go back and play previous levels.

Gold pins are not really useful to me unless I use old levels for contests. They then are an indicator to the kind of result I can expect when replaying them. I could however do without them.

But not being able to play old levels at all would be a "game" breaker to me.

I use old levels to complete side games in order to gain boosters to move on the map. Not being able to play old levels anymore will hinder my game play. Hence no play at all…

It was already bad enough that major changes had been made without notifications in Bear Climb (more level to complete before top rewards, game set up in tier with compulsary reaping tier rewards). These changes made the numerous short-timed boosters totally useless.

Now if our wishes really matter to the Studio, how about setting up the ever claimed portal to navigate quicker on the map?

I apologise if my comment seems a bit acid, but this idea of not being able to go back on the map has really irritated me.
