Currently in Soda there's a test where replaying older levels in not available, and golden pins are not active - to have players focus more forward on progress than going back.

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately, mine is still the same. I updated the game, restarted my phone and played a level. Maybe it's just a glitch.
That’s great news! I was hoping it would not be permanent.
I like going back and playing previous levels and am very unhappy that I can no longer do that. I used it as a strategy to help me complete squares in the four in a row games and just for the pleasure of playing without risking losing my winning streak. I haven’t played a new level since this feature was removed except in the cake baking section. I’ve been playing daily for over 15 years and am at level 18468, so I am a dedicated player, or at least I was until this happened.
The test will end at the end of this week.
Hi Llenerab, same here, 4 weeks now. Can only play starting with Bake A Cake on Thursday. Looks like King gave LoFiGummy bad info ("many" more new levels, "many" more new features/contests. Changes to the Bears, and outlining the Icons on the Activities page just don't count). Maybe next time have something ready first? OH here's an idea. Maybe ask us first????
The test where I can’t play old games or four in a row because of it is very annoying. The only day I can play is Friday. I am stuck on level 19,420 until new levels are available.
Hi Blue, if they would bring back Kimmy's Arcade at least we could play that.

The announcements do absolutely nothing to address the game and concerns.
Not being able to play older levels, not able to earn rewards by accomplishing goals, not being able to open by clicking on anything that is no longer able to play. There are more and combined it is a huge slap to the playing community. Absolute disrespect.

Hi Blue, when this started they said many more new levels, all I've seen in 3 weeks is the usual 45 on Friday. Hope you find something to play soon.
I'm sitting at level 19,330 . . . There are no more levels even open and I can't play levels I already completed, no rewards, none of the 'Activities' offer anything in the Mastery League save for the Bear Climb.
That makes the game EXTREMELY redundant and boring since they took away the option to replay older levels. U used to go back and replay levels to earn 3 stars. My first few thousand levels are all won with 3 stars as I never moved up to next until I had 3 stars. Now they even took that option away.
I quit Forge of Empires years ago when I was in top 10-50 globally and never looked back when it got too boring. Hate to see this next go . . .
Also, soda islands is gone. This is a strictly detrimental change.
It's nice to focus on getting players to /move forward' but how about keeping the game fun for those long time players? Focusing on the new(er) players will give good reason for the loyal veterans to leave. It's boring just waiting around and being ignored/disrespected in this way. *I used to never consider a level passed until I earned 3 stars. Not being able to replay levels ruined that. Thanks! Also, I have been playing Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda for a couple/few longer than a decade yet the profile information and Badge says I 'just' earned a new badge for being a 2 year player. Not correct. smile *Please fix the game so we can replay older levels or I will be moving on. Thank You (Larry)
Hi BlueR, for me this test is now in it's 3rd week. Just when are we going to see the "MANY" new levels (not just the usual 45 of Friday), when are we going to see the "MANY" new features. IF I CAN'T PLAY, I DON'T SPEND MONEY EITHER.
ALSO . . . Playing in the Mastery League adds NOTHING to one's goals in the '4 in a row' and rewards accomplishments.
It's like King is just trying in many ways to kill the game!

Yes, idk why they keep taking things away. I mean, we haven't come this far to only "come this far". I depend on the bakery and Mastery comp.
They took away the Batula feature giving a mega sucker or 2 (The ones we won in the bakery) and others etc etc
Now, if we miss a level on bakery we don't get to go back to the 2nd to the last level to get back into the bakery. Well none of the past levels actually.

Forward progression is absolutely contraindicated. I am at Level 470. I advise you to calm down and cool down during the test feature. 🟦See the Ideas section for more information.
Hi LoFi, question. It's been over a week now. When will we see the MANY more levels (they just added the normal 45 this Friday, when will we see the MANY more contests that was first mentioned in you original post?

Hi, I am new here. I was wondering if anyone knows if not being able to replay levels is temporary or if it's permanent.
same here that's exactly why i came to check here in the community as had An unfortunate feeling this was another thing that's been 'done' rather than a glitch… certainly looks that way to me.
this is about the biggest deal breaker there is as far as I'm concerned. i will not be FORCED into which levels im allowed to play. sometimes i don't play a new level at all for days or occasionally even weeks! but i DO go back and revisit various earlier levels and i WAS playing every day (and paying real money for the privelege from time purely because I ENJOYED playing* *MY WAY ie at my OWN pace - which for me also includeds REGULARLY revisiting old levels].
i will STILL not be forced to move forward! if i cannot go BACK i still won't be pushed into new levels. i DEFINITELY wont be being pushed into playing ONLY new levels. therefore since i will not be forced into moving forward and now we get it sprung on us without warning or consultation that we will no longer be 'allowed' to 'go back' have a do over& Replay over earlier levels… insisting in this change for me only forces one outcome and it isn't the outcome this change is intended to force! if you won't let us'go back'and the timing is such that I'm not READY to attempt moving forward/accept being pushed forward. that makes for a really straightforward no brainer decision as far as I go. and that's it: that's AS far AS I GO! nothing for me to play then i just won't be playing! I've literally just gone from i make an effort to actually play every day and mostly without fail! to as it stands right at this moment it's completely ruined for me and if it stays thus that's me gone, taking my daily player status and associated regular income right along with us.

unfortunately you REALLY have RUINED this game (for me definitely and no doubt for many others). cant not speak up to let you know You're about to lose at least one (potentially X number of what WERE your loyal/daily/regular players. or maybe to put it a better way for sakes of ivory towers : "YOUR LOYAL/DAILY/REGULAR REVENUE SOURCES" whichever gets the message seen heard and understood best. because this one's already totally disastrous. it would be inhumane to say nothing just await the impending …whatever. but whatevers .. it's coming.

Hi K, there is a whole discussion board about this, do a search on "cannot replay levels". Basically the Towering Geniuses in design are supposedly adding "many more new levels, and many more new features" (ain't seen nothin yet). Just be thankful you have levels to play, I am max'ed out (18,000+).
P.S. If someone (Help Desk) every tells you to uninstall/reinstall the game DON'T DO it. You will lose Consecutive Days Played Bonus, Gold Bars, Boosters, and Power-Ups. They will probably reimburse any items purchased but NOT anything won in a contest. And it probably won't fix the issue. Best of luck in the game.
Yeah, same thing’s happening with me. It’s like this rule has been enforced overnight! (see here):
I’m on Level 180 right now, and I’m trying to play in Level 12 which I usually do, but now I can’t play on any level lower than 180, despite me closing and restarting the app, rebooting my iPhone, and deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times, including switching King accounts!! It’s even more frustrating because I was able to play on any level just yesterday by simply scrolling back on the map, and I realized it had suddenly locked my level forward (seemingly changed and upgraded overnight), forcing my “current position” to stay at its highest level—what’s going on here? Anyone else experiencing this?

That's odd.. Could you give a bit more information? At what point does it not work to play an older level? Can you still click on the level pins? Does the play-level screen show up?

I do hope they fix this. I am trying to get three stars on every level and of course I don’t always get it on the first try. I’ve got three stars on everything through level 3540 and after having been at this since its inception will be very unhappy if that’s where it ends 😅
Lets hope they wake up soon. Another thing the geniuses didn't consider. Can't play won't spend money either.

YeahI'm at the end on mobile.
So for the 4 in a row, I just pick a square that doesn't need "on new levels" like collect red, stripes, etc. Can't even do that now.
Grow a Bear works on the mastery levels unless they changed that too. EDIT: Mastery levels still work for grow a bear, rocket boost & turbo tonic.
There's also Mastery Level competitions. Grow a bear usually works in the MLevels too. I haven't started them today.

Buttl the bakery always keeps me occupied because I need my mega lollipops!!! I bounce around my teams. Have a few favorites and just keep playing the bakery or mastery.

Hi JillyJill, quick answer. It's intentional, apparently we are part of a "test group". Supposedly they are "improving" the game (many more contests (where), many more new levels (where)). I don't know about you, but I am max'ed out on levels (the few I have left I am saving for Friday's contest). Can't replay levels, can't play Grow a Bear or 4 in a Row. I just hope they return everyback to normal on Thursday's update. NEXT TIME JUST ASK US. Really well thought out manuver. P.S. I have played over 1,535 days straight.

Sometimes I need to play old levels and I usually play the 2nd to the last level when building a cake if i get stuck in the cake. I know bakery is not open today. But I went to click on old levels for one of the contests and it's not letting me into any level.
