You may wish to check out this thread in the Ideas section: https://community.king.com/en/candy-crush-soda-saga/discussion/261049/can-we-please-get-a-shut-off-for-the-episode-race#latest. Many players have already cast their vote to have a shut off option added to the feature. If the suggestion gets enough votes, King may add the option to the game.

In the meantime, I would suggest ignoring the race altogether and playing as if it doesn’t exist. Go to the Soda Saga app settings on your device and turn off notifications and you will stop getting notified when someone passes you or finishes ahead of you.

I think the race is great. So I can quickly earn some gold bars. Because that means I'm still faster than without.

You have no problem, but make one of them. Why? I have explained everything to you, but you do not want to understand it. So I give you a way that helps you. Play it on the PC. There you have nothing. No boosters and no gold bars. You only have the function to buy. Otherwise, you play your levels.
