So, I bit the bullet and I uninstalled and reinstalled the game on my computer. I also cleared my cache. I got back to the game with all the activities. I have the same problem. Nothing but the heart and gold bar at the top of the screen. Can't see friends or challenges. I guess it's widespread. I hope they give us a few hours of free play and lots of extra boosters for the inconvenience.
