If updating it hasn't worked, I'd try to uninstall and re install it. It usually does the trick when updates fail to load!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who failed to notice the effect of those tiles. Gold tiles don't have a value, but will x2 the value of the word that it is used in. Silver tiles x2 the value of the letter and blank tiles have no value at all apart from being extremely handy in times of need of course!

I'm confused, do the two colour bombs combine and explode on their own? Or are you doing it manually? 

Have you tried the regular troubleshooting yet? Make sure you have cleared your cache and that you have the latest version of Flash player installed. Not having anything else running in the background should also help it load.

Have you modified the date or time on your iPad recently by any chance?
