Well if you have your progress synced to Facebook or Kingdom you can always try to reinstall the game. Also making sure you have enough free memory available is a good idea, 1gb minimum is ideal.

If you have the FB app, uninstall it so that when you hit connect in the game it brings up the FB website through the Chrome browser instead, try sign in that way. And if you don't have the Facebook app, install it and connect to your account in the app, then when you hit connect in the game it will use the FB app to sign…

Generally your game needs to be connected to either Facebook or Kingdom in order to get them. Check you've got the latest update installed, it's also crucial.
