Thank you for the feedback. It's good to know it was an update issue and not some new horrible test feature the devs have come up with! The game is so data hungry it no longer functions on older devices. It uses up far too much memory for what is essentially a simple game.

I agree, it's getting interesting again with the constant changes. It keeps me hooked as I'm trying to second guess King's next move and look for patterns in the algorithms, so there is some interest left in the game for me too. I can recommend starting a new game. Thanks for your support! I find them more offensive on the iPad than on the iPhone, where possibly one could get used to them, but on the tablets it's just dreadful.
