Carrot challenge - game won't play

I was playing the Farm Heroes carrot challenge on my iphone 5S.  I stopped playing the game, but when I tried to play the game later, the game will not play.  I click on the app on the iphone and it says it is loading, but then the screen flashes and I'm back to home page on the Iphone.  I have tried this several times and cannot get into play the game.  I tried turning the phone off and on.  I also deleted some things on my phone I didn't need to clear up memory on the phone, but still cannot play it.  I can play candy crush saga and candy crush soda just fine, just not Farm Heroes.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did you get the game to work again.  I am afraid to delete the app and reinstall because I do not want to lose all my data from the game.  I do have my progress saved with King.  I do not play this game on facebook.  Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds daft but have you tried simply restarting your phone, then trying to load the game again?

I did restart my phone, but i have not tried loading the game again for fear I will lose my progress.  I do not play on Facebook.  I have my game saved to King.com.
