Why do boosters vanish from my app?

So you play the game on a phone or tablet and you are busy building up free boosters on your game and you run into problems. You follow the troubleshooting and reinstall the game and bam! All your boosters are gone. Your ingame free currencies are still there and your progress is, but not boosters. Why?

This is a common question and there is a very good reason for it.

On Facebook when you play, everything is saved on the servers. You can only play when connected online and so once connected everything is there.

When you install the game on a mobile or tablet, the app works slightly different. Its designed so that you can play it offline as well as online, so instead of saving boosters (and lives) on a server where you cannot access unless online, they are saved in your devices memory along with the game.

This means that when there are any changes, sometimes simply an update can cause the game to be re-written, or you have to uninstall the game as it is not working properly, the boosters are removed with the game data. This can also happen if your device is low in memory. The same again if you switch devices or buy a new phone for example. You can still use the boosters on your old device until they are gone. 

Unfortunately as there is no way of tracking them, even if King advise you to uninstall/reinstall the game, free ones cannot be replaced. Free ones meaning boosters you have earned from mini games or events. Of course, if they were ones that you had bought ingame and with real money then that is different and they can be tracked. 

The upside of this means that if you play the games on multiple devices, then you can earn boosters on each device you use so in effect, you could earn more than playing on one device. 

Only you can decide if losing boosters is worth uninstalling the game to troubleshoot, but often in many cases it will be.
