@encantes I canΒ΄t say that this is close to where I live. I live in the middle of sweden and the pictures are from the far south where I use to spend a couple of weeks every year. Now it is long time since I was there. It is the west coast of sweden donΒ΄t know the english name of the water. In swedish it is kattegatt and that the water that is between sweden and denmark. Connected to the northsea (at least I think thats the name in english) in swedish nordsjΓΆn.
The ocean/water could some times get "angry" with high wawes when it was windy. But most of the times it was just small wawes or really still. You wouldnΒ΄t think that the pictures are from the same place.
Hello @encantes I live in the WACHAU and there isn't an ocean or lake nearby.
TheΒ WachauΒ ([Β vaΛxaΚΜ―Β ], with stress on the "au" [aΚΜ―] in the last syllable) is the landscape in and around the valley of theΒ DanubeΒ betweenΒ MelkΒ andΒ Krems an der DonauΒ inΒ Lower AustriaΒ , about 80 kilometers west of the federal capitalΒ ViennaΒ .Β In 2000, it was includedΒ in the list ofΒ UNESCO World Cultural and Natural HeritageΒ sitesΒ as the WachauΒ Cultural LandscapeΒ with theΒ MelkΒ andΒ GΓΆttweigΒ monasteries andΒ the old town ofΒ KremsΒ .
So I'll post a photo of the wonderful blue Danube flowing into the Black Sea
With an average water flow of around 6855 mΒ³/sΒ [3]Β and a total length of 2857 kilometersΒ [1]Β after theΒ Volga,Β theΒ DanubeΒ is the second largest and second longest river inΒ EuropeΒ .Β TheΒ riverΒ drains large parts of central and south-eastern Europe.Β It flows through or touches ten countries (Β GermanyΒ ,Β AustriaΒ ,Β SlovakiaΒ ,Β HungaryΒ ,Β CroatiaΒ ,Β SerbiaΒ ,Β BulgariaΒ ,Β RomaniaΒ ,Β Republic of MoldovaΒ andΒ Ukraine) β more than any other river on earth.
The Danube derives its name from the union of two source rivers, theΒ BrigachΒ and the largerΒ BregΒ , both of which have their source in theΒ Central Black ForestΒ .Β It crosses three large basin landscapes: the northern foothillsΒ of the AlpsΒ and theΒ Vienna BasinΒ (upper reaches), theΒ Pannonian lowlandsΒ (middle reaches) and theΒ Wallachian lowlandsΒ (lower reaches).Β It cuts through the separating mountains inΒ narrow valleysΒ , the most famous sections of which are theΒ Danube Gorge near BeuronΒ , theΒ Danube Gorge near WeltenburgΒ , theΒ WachauΒ , theΒ Hainburg Gate(also Prussian Gate) and theΒ Iron GateΒ .Β The stream emptiesΒ into theΒ Black Sea via the extensiveΒ Danube DeltaΒ .
The Danube is one of the oldest and most important EuropeanΒ trade routesΒ and connects different cultures.Β Political tensions and wars repeatedly caused theΒ waterwayΒ to be closed and obstructed .Β Since theΒ fall of the Iron Curtain,Β the Danube has regained its economic importance.Β The river connects many species-rich and unspoiltΒ natural areasΒ and is an important location forΒ hydroelectric power plantsΒ .
