Syncing scores on two devices

I have been playing Candy Crush Saga on my Android tablet for many years. No problems. Recently, I decided to install the app on my Android phone for "emergency" use. The phone now displays my current level (1793) but the tablet has reset to Level 1. I tried the "Retrieve my Progress" link on the tablet, but cannot get it to work, after clicking the link, I logged in to my account and it was verified. Nothing happened. Still at level 1 on tablet. The "Retrieve" link is now no longer displayed. Need some help to figure this out, please!
