Hey Farmers! 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

As the days get shorter and the nights get spookier, we wanted to take the time to bring some light into your days with Farm on the World Mental Health Day celebrated on October 10!

To bring a little extra joy, we’re hosting a special event where you can show off your pets and share some stories about them and win some prizes. 🐰🐱🐶🐹 It's the perfect time to cozy up with your furry (or scaly, or feathered) friends!

Let’s spread some love and connection in the community! 🧡

📝 How to Join

Post a picture of your pet in this thread! It could be anything from your playful pup to your mysterious kitty or even your adorable hamster!
Tell us a bit about them what's their name? How did they come into your life? What's the cutest or funniest thing they do?
Visit the thread daily to see what other farmers are sharing, and feel free to post more about your pet, we’d love to see and hear more about them! (But don't worry, this won't increase your chances of winning.)

Don't have a pet? Share a picture of a pet that you've met, or maybe someone a friend or someone in your family has one? All pets are allowed! 🤗

I love the new Barn Buddy and think Shadow is a purrfect name.

Here is my cat Shadow. She recently had extensive dental surgery for a rare disease and it was touch and go whether it would be successful. Thankfully it was, she only has her incisors and canine teeth. She is a great hunter, how she manages to still eat biscuits and devour whole rabbits is a mystery to me without her molars and premolars!

and here is her sister Ghost, both cats are rescue cats and about 6 years old. Ghost is very cute and always makes me smile when she is playing with leaves and paws out pebbles from my raising flower beds to play football with them!

Unfortunately my dog passed away last September but he was the love of my life and it's been a difficult year without him. But I love to share him whenever I can. His name was Gino and he lived to 19.3 years old.

He came into my life as a surprise. I was working at a small family owned company and they had a dog, who I loved. She had puppies and one day I took care of them and my boss let me keep one. I picked him out and that was that, he became my baby for 19 years. You could say I knew him since he was in his mama's belly, so basically his entire life. The last picture here is him as a puppy.

The cutest and funniest things he'd do was just be so dang attached to me lol he would always need to be by me, when we're sleeping he'd always need to be touching me, he'd cry when we're in the car and I leave for a second. Also another funny thing he'd do is he took forever to "fluff" his blanket before laying down. It had to be just perfect 😆. Here's my baby Gino

My dog Frank is a staffy cross with a red cattle dog.We think 🤔

We got him from the animal shelter about 7 years ago.

The orange kitty looks like my daughter's cat Loki.. same smudge on the nose and fur color and Loki has giant thumbs, lol Loki stands for little orange kitty..

This is our family cat Nastja. Although she is already an old lady, she is still very curious and likes to hide in bags and baskets. She usually makes herself comfortable there and also likes to take a nap.

The new pet in the game FHS is also very cute again and has new decorations. Thank you very much for the sweet event.

This is Luna. My daughter's cat but he lived at our house with her until she moved out. We thought he was a she but oops. If he thinks you are going to keep him in, he vanishes quick. He seems to stay in a little more now he is about 5 and despite being out mostly when I'm there, he still gives me the loving when he sees me. He was less tolerant about me until he got clipped by a car when he was about 2 and I cried over him cos he'd vanished and I was worried he'd gone. After that he loved me more and would come and curl up with me. He loves his fussing and pets until he decides it's attack time and we get eaten.
He also meows as though he is hard done by and will eat treats until they come out of his ears if we let him. He will also beg as soon as anyone has food and we can't leave his small humans food around when he is there.
He's also bought them a mouse in on three different occasions. One for each 🙄

oh my god this is so typical of cats 😂 I once had a cat that we thought disappeared - but it turned out that he had just decided to move into someone elses home a 10 minute drive away and stayed there for a couple of months

They really are the kings and queens of their homes!

Sorry to hear that, but do you have any old pictures of them? 🤗 I think the best thing we can do for pets no longer here is to remember them. I will always cherish the dog I grew up with called Pluto! He was like a little brother to me!

My dog is definitely a part of the family. His name is Pippin and he is a Morkie (1/2 Maltese and 1/2 Yorkie). He is definitely spoiled, has several dog beds in my office and also in my husband’s study. We have a fenced outdoor area that has premium artificial turf, where he can go potty and has his own dog door for easy access in and out of the house.

He is 4 years old, very friendly but also protective of his people and his home (he needs to meet you first to make sure he approves if you are visiting the house).
