what are the beans used for and how do you use them

You use beans to buy shovels before you press play. As long as you have zero already, you can buy 3 for 250 beans. They also activate companions, the three animals with checkmarks. They tell you how many beans they cost under the image.
I'd like to know as well!!
I thought I used to be able to use beans to buy gold bars? The same shows I can shop for beans, ex. 28 bars for 3000 beans?
yes they are useless, hopefully that will change in the future 🤔

Unfortunately, beans can only be used to buy shovels, otherwise you have to use gold bars.
how do you redeem them? Everything seems to cost gold bars for me. I’d love to use beans, I have over 500,000
only shovels, three shovels for 250 beans
