Hi, I can't find any way for these buds to open. Has anyone figured this out?

If your buds are still pink, you are not part of the test group. Only so many players have the green ones. π
I understand that you can't remove the flowers, they are green before they open. I didn't see the picture, but the buds are still pink. It's possible that I'm translating it wrong π

Hi, you have to connect three crops next to the flower or run over them with a tractor, that's the blue wheel, or tap them with a shovel three times and they should be removed, unless there's a bug in the game ππ

Its maybe something they have visually changed but are rolling out slowly. They do do that from time to time :)
Mine are coming up as green, new icons, but you're right - swapping with water helps. Many thanks!

There are no other green buds? You swap the pink buds with a water drop as you will have done many times before this. If you see something different, are you able to add a screenshot?
