I am having so much trouble trying to figure out how to movie and change directions of the bulls to get the poppies. It feels impossible!! Please help me understand how to make the bull move in the direction I need.

True! The Bulls are definitely confusing in the beginning levels!
The basic rule is make a cropsie combo at the Bull in the same direction you want it to collect the Poppy. If you want it to go to your right, then, you will make a combo in your right hand side (just next to the Bull); if you want it to go down, make a combo there!
