thank you for helping. I did what you asked: deleted cache in safari and rebooted.
Afterwards I lost 3 games and then the fourth game froze.
Ok, I’m not sure which thing made this work, but I tried turning off cellular data. Also, fearing I was going to have to completely delete the app and all data, I started using boosters. I used probably about five boosters on the level and finally won. I went on to win the following level.
I’m now on level 1732.
Of I continue to freeze, I will let you know.

Please never delete the game data, as this will make you lose the accumulated boosters.
