I can't exit Pet Rescue Saga. The "back button" does not work for this game anymore (Android).

I used to be able to exit by hitting the back button on my phone, it no longer works for Pet Rescue Saga. It works when not playing the game so my only choice to exit is restart my phone. Annoying. Please help

What if you run your finger down from the top of your screen, does the back button not come up then?

The back button is below the screen, accessible during the game, it just does not work during the game. It used to and it works when using other apps, just not Pet Rescue Saga
