App issue on both iphone and ipad

I truly enjoy playing Pet Rescue, but I am unable to play on either of my devices. I am experiencing the same issue on both devices so I must assume there is an issue with app. Both devices and apps have been updated. I’ve restarted both devices twice. I cannot play any events or my current level on either device. When I press any button to play, the button moves or bounces as if it will open but nothing happens. This has been happening for a few days now. The last result was to delete the app and download it again but I am still experiencing the same issue. Also, I noticed once I reached the 35/35 stars on the home screen, I can no longer play levels or events and this is after I’ve reloaded the app again. See below. Please help something is wrong with the app! Thank you.

Have you tried looking in your app store for an update?
Other players are reporting that updating the game solved this problem.
