why do I barely get any points when I pass a level to get my puppy either a doughnut or gold bars are used to get a lot of points and now I get sometimes zero or three or 15 can you give some more points please?

The number of points come from the number of red blocks that you collect within a newly played level (or, if you're at the end, a random level)
You can see these points within the levels as the number shows whenever you collect a group of red blocks, see below, I've just clicked on a group of six

The total number you collect each level is also shown when your level is complete, I collected 57 in the example below

After the level these red blocks become the 'points' for giving your Pet food, toys etc
Here is a screenshot of them filling up the points bar to get my Pet some soap for a wash 😸

Some levels have lots of red blocks, but other times there might be only a few, or none. This might be why you don't seem to be getting many.
