⚠️ Black Screen Issue in Petopia – We Need Your Help!

Question

We’re aware that some players are experiencing a black screen while engaging with Petopia. The Studio is actively looking into this and we’d need a bit more information from you to reproduce the issue 👇

If you’ve encountered this problem, could you please share:

* The device and model you’re playing on
* The version of the game you’re currently using
* The city level at which you started experiencing the problem
* Step-by-step what you were doing before the black screen appeared
* At which exact moment the issue happens (e.g. entering Petopia, after completing a level, after placing or moving a building, etc.)
* How often it occurs
* 📸 If possible, please also share a screenshot of your city view when the issue occurs so the team can take a closer look. As a temporary workaround, you can try closing the game and reopening it to remove the black screen.

The more details you can provide, the easier it will be for the team to find a fix 🙏

If the game opens, which it no longer does, after playing a game the screen turns black. Currently I’m getting a frozen screen at log on attempts. This is on both devices.

I did encounter this issue before on my iPad!  I am glad to tell you that I did not see it in the Petopia we had last month and also the Petopia that arrived today!

I will be able to give you a little bit information about the issue as I had it countless times!  Just like @dianakotori, the black screen appeared when I tried to tend to my pets!  It was random and was not caused by a specific "need" of the pet!!

But, I had a workaround to get out of the Black screen… Since I could see the level button and also map widget, I would just go to an old level and replay it for few moves and exit.  The Petopia town would appear normally.  Unfortunately, the pet(s) did not need my services anymore and hence, I missed out on many booster rewards!!

I’ve had that issue in the past, always on the Halloween Style Petopia. In my case, it has happened when I’m trying to satisfy the cravings of a pet, and also when I’m trying to move buildings around. I get a message that a pet is “busy right now”, on a black screen. I usually just close the app and open it again, and it’s fixed.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a screenshot, but if it happens again, I’ll post it here.

I play on an iPad Air (5th Generation) with iPadOS 18.7.3. I have the chance to upgrade to iPadOS 26, but I’ve heard of a few cases where some players start having problems with the game and that operating system. I think I’m very lucky, because my game is always running almost perfectly. I’ve got the version 4.16.0.0.
