There have been plenty of promotions offering rewards. There was Bubblegum Hill, Kimmy's fishing event. There are always ways to get rewards, you just need to play the promotions if you get them.

The promotion is a timed event so this means it only runs for a day or a few days and then its removed until next time. This could be once a week or once every 2 weeks but it's not in the game all the time. You just need to keep an eye out for the pop up.

If you follow the steps here, especially making sure you are up to date and you clear the cache, then your game should play as normal. Do you have a Kingdom account? This might be the best way to transfer progress. Go back to your phone and create the account in the game (it's the little orange icon) and then you can login to this account on your iPad to ensure that your progress transfers over.

Is it not only new stars that count, so from the levels in front of you, not from the old levels. I'm pretty sure that's what the text i the quest pop-up said anyway. Check it out :)
