You definitely need gold but you actually really need boosters the most. When I started the tournament I have about 15K gold but I have a huge arsenal of boosters. I'm talking in the thousands. I actually barely use my gold in the tournament. Maybe 2K gold spent so far, because I keep earning gold as I play.

King actually has tools in place to catch bots playing. I know this because one of players in my leaderboard was caught cheating this weekend and was booted from the board. Though it's nice that you complained, it won't do much. Good luck
