I think I can answer this question: Those levels with no purple candies usually only have three colours. Those are usually green, orange and blue. Having only three colours helps players to create cascades which would score are lot of points in All Stars. King try to control how many purple can be scored per level and per episode so any level with only three colours no longer has purple candies. Usually other levels in the same episode make up for these levels and the overall possible score per episode is pretty constant.
You are right that there does not seem to be anyone from what I call the "angry mob" this year @cookiemae . I sort of expected it to be the case though. The really outspoken players who accuse anyone better than themselves are all themselves cheaters who are deluded enough to think they are the only ones who know the tricks to outwit the game. Those players were probably excluded from the event before it even started, like a lot of honest players like yourself were, so they can't be bothered to join the discussions here. Also I would guess that a lot of the moaners will have left this community and gone to other social media sites and can't be bothered to come here. I don't really think it's anything to do with King removing posts. Maybe once we get past the first final knockout round we'll see more complaints. But given the way the game has evolved I would not be surprised if a lot of the top players had just quit this game altogether, to be quite honest. It's become too easy to play this game in the past few months. I really mean it: those new fishes help to pass levels that used to be tricky to pass and I find that most levels finish by themselves when I have lots of moves left. Candy Crush has become really boring and many of the best players have probably left the game and gone elsewhere.
