hi and welcome to the community. Critter carnival isn't a daily event so that is why it cannot be played. Have you logged out. Closed the game completely. Rebooted your device. Checked App Store for updates before opening the game again?

midnight CET is the time the game resets. So that would be 1am for me in the UK..so your time would be whatever the difference is 🙂

Good morning and welcome to the community! You can use beans in a variety of ways, for companion usage. For helping with rancid but my favourite is for buying shovels. You can buy 3 shovels for 250 beans as long as you don't have any, before you hit play on a level. Shovels are very handy if you don't already know 😁
