Not everyone gets events it seems right now. It all depends which "test" group you are in. You can try logging out then logging in again...using the kingdom instead of facebook or vice versa...and just keep checking for updates and at some point they will shuffle the groups again. Ok update. Not good news but at least its a progress update. They discovered the fix wasn't quite as clear cut and while fixing some, are working on others. It sounds like a house of cards!
