My round-up at the end of Day 1:

It took me about 500 gold bars to get to second position. The player in first place played continuously for 14 hours through the night (in India) and then stopped eventually. He played strangely slowly. In fact everyone in my group played at a snail's pace. So did I, of course, but it still seems odd.
