Interesting question.
I have made it to the top. Getting the main box, has never given me the "loot" advertised.
The Lotus Flower for me does nothing as does the Mystery Pieces.
Getting to the end earns nice rewards but comes with big coin cost.
AI gets to know how you play.

2nd Update: All is good. I'm able to get ads, so I don't necessarily have to use gold bars. Although, the hard levels are still too tough to get through without using bars.
Not receiving any ads
The only way to get through a level is if I use gold bars. In other words, the ads to get additional moves is not working. Also, once I get low on extra refill lives, it will not let me watch videos for that either. I will try and take a screenshot, if that helps fix these problems. Update: The extra refill lives is working. Hopefully, the other problem will be fixed, because I will be wasting too many bars, if I only need to get a few candies knocked out.

I can confirm that this special candy behavior is currently being tested in Candy Crush Saga, and I’m passing on the feedback shared here, including your comments about the stronger flashing, lighting, and spinning effects.
You also mentioned that you don’t have the option to turn off flashing effects on your Android device. That’s very helpful for us to know. Could you please share a screenshot from that device showing your Accessibility settings in the game? This will help the team look further into why the option is not showing for you there.
