I suspect the same @michimune, and I have posted about this elsewhere. You must have read my posts in which I drew the conclusions that we are all seeing different leaderboards in these supposed "live" events. And I did add my comment about the "The Matrix" at the bottom of my Cornflower post as well, so I am well aware of this possibility.

I am observing five leaderboards for the one purpose of drawing my conclusions. What you suggest is probably correct, but I would prefer to gather some evidence.

I once noted that the only enjoyment left for me in the game is competing against others in live leaderboard competitions. Finding out that the others are not competing against me takes the fun out of these events as well now.

So there is nothing left.
