It's possible to work that out by the score so you didn't miss anything. I only saw the event in one game, and the winner in that group had also played over 500 levels and produced a similar score as the one in your leaderboard. I think King spread the best (or should I say craziest?) players out over the leaderboards now. It's pretty obvious from what I have seen in recent leaderboard contests. It's like the methods used in the football World Cup draw: The group allocation is not random but according to how strong the teams are, so that there is a chance the best two teams will meet in the finals (and not the quarter finals).
