    Hello Wykoon!

    As @Werner_Cichy said, Men's Day - Father's Day is already over. It's a holiday - Ascension Day.

Even I made a contribution to this in the German area, without a badge. Now that I've seen it, I can write my story about it. Only it is not positive.๐Ÿ˜”

My father had a new wife again and he's only with her, they're like glue. Nevertheless we tried it. My sister and I wanted to invite our father to the cabaret and I had reserved the tickets. We wanted to have dinner with him afterwards. Unfortunately, this was not possible. My father was stubborn and wanted us to invite her too. We said it was Father's Day and we wanted to be alone with you for a couple of hours. I have to say that we never get to see him and do something together. He canceled and I returned his card. My sister and I were then alone in the cabaret and had fun. It's sad that we weren't even allowed to spend a few hours alone with our father once a year. I then asked my relatives how they spend their Father's Day. Quite normal and separated. You do something with the father and with the mother on Mother's Day. There are no problems there. We are a broken family. I'll say it clearly: I have parents.

I tried to find something positive, but unfortunately it is not. With us it is like this: On this day only the men are among themselves and on the move with the wagon and beer. Now it is slowly changing that they do something more with their families.

I remembered growing up with a strict dad. I came from a conservative family where no boyfriend was allowed until we finished college. He was also a man with a good heart and was always there helping others. Unfortunately he succumbed to liver cirrhosis.

Memories are still fresh. He was my unsung hero, a man without a cape but soared high and protected us until now. For my papa, wherever you are now, i will never forget you. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, PAPA๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’•โค๏ธ

Thank you @wykoon for this lovely thread, @Esla for designing a superb badge, and @Diamond Lim for tagging me.

My favourite memory of my dad was on my wedding day when just him and me walked across the fields to our little church. The family had decorated a cart, and we were supposed to have gone over to the church with the cart and cart horse, but as the horse was being led through the gate something spooked it and it bolted, the wheel of the cart caught the gate post, throwing the cart over and taking the horse down with it. The horse then tried to then get up, but my dad acted so instantaneously and knelt down to keep the horses head down, whilst the owner detached the cart from the horse. Dad was so upset he felt so reasonable for ruining my wedding day for not having the cart to go to the church, and the fact his suit was dirty. I was just so pleased the horse was ok, and said "come on dad we will walk over" It was the best moment in my life, a beautiful day, and the day when my father and I bonded very deeply. Needless to say we were late, the photographer wasn't happy, and obviously our guests and especially my husband were getting very worried! ๐Ÿคฃ

when I was younger, sometimes my dad came home and brought mint popsicles for both of us to enjoy. It was our favorite flavour. I loved these special moments and they were secret too, kinda, because I don't remember my siblings received any popsicles. They didn't enjoy mint as much as we did so...their loss๐Ÿคฃ
