I will enter an event or contest even if I don't play the game so I can get a badge

When I enter into a new forum, the first that I look is to edit my profile ....including avatar and signature! 😎

Some forums set some restrictions to new members if they want to have their own avatar and/or signature! This can be a minimum number of posts, e.g. 50 or something else that very easily can be bypassed in a short time if the member is active!

You can imagine how much I was disappointed when I realized that in this forum, level 4 needed for signature and level 5 for avatar!

To reach these levels, a great number of posts is needed! Great number, but it is easily possible, in a few weeks or months if the member is active in the Community! This is o.k.!

My disappointment was bigger, when I realized that 500 posts are not enough! Points are necessary! A huge number of them!!!

After this, I realized that one way to get points is collecting badges! 😁😁😊

So I started collecting them! For this reason only! Because I wanted to have my own personalized avatar! ( and signature of course).

I don't want to discuss if this restriction is the host's policy or a Community's policy! Or if I think that it is correct or not! The fact is that collecting badges became one of my habits in the forum and this is the reason because I continue collecting them!

And yes, I like them because they are very beautiful! 😃

Having a badge doesn't affect whether I enter a contest or not

Was toss up between I don't care about badges/having a badge doesn't affect participation.

If interested in doing what it takes to get the badge determines if I participate.

I like badges because you get to see how well you are doing in some of your activities.

I like to see badges acknowledging achievements, but I would participate in contests whether or not there was a badge on offer.
