We always celebrate Easter with a big family dinner. We thank the gods for the rebirth. We have Easter egg hunts

To me, my family and I start with the Pascual Triduum beginning with Holy Thursday and ending with Easter Vigil which is actually the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ.

Hello @PrettyBubbles thank you for this thread and the cute badge 😊😍

As a family, as soon as flowers begin to blossom on trees and the sun somewhat shows, we have taken the habit to prepare a yummy picnic we take with us in one of the numerous parks in the neighbourhood. We spend a leisurely afternoon picnicking, playing games and enjoying the beautiful sight of the trees covered in flowers.

We spent 3 years in Japan where Hanami (watching flowers) is a national tradition at the time the cherry trees blossom. We thought it was such a lovely way to welcome spring that we brought this custom back home with us.

Even today, some 20 years later, my grown up kids still book the date on their agenda and come home from wherever they live to picnic under the blossoming trees, play games and share memories of our time in Japan 🌸😊🌸πŸ₯°πŸŒΈ

Another occasion for family feasting and mayhem is the wondrous egg coloring activity. More often than not, we end up with more dye on ourselves than on the eggs. After the coloring, the hunt begins, and kids of all ages take part in this competitive event. The golden egg is always the big prize, and it's usually the most challenging to find. If it rains, the egg hunt moves indoors, but be warned, nothing is off-limits. Double-check your mayonnaise jar before you use it! πŸ˜‚
