    Achiever and leader


    • Feels must have superiority over other children


    • May have difficulty when the second child is born, such as feeling unloved or neglected


    • Can be controlling and focused on being correct


    • Uses good (or bad) behavior to regain parents' attention


    • Bossy or authoritarian


    • Strives to please others


    • Reliable


    • Can be protective or helpful towards others.


    not for all.

    @Palash_Sarma I am also an achiever and leader. I'm going to quote a couple of things from the story that are just like me.

    Achiever/perfectionist – An oldest child will not tell you, but he or she picks up on every expectation you have. Even when you do not expect perfection, an oldest child will strive to be the best to please you. This will work to your child’s advantage in the long run: many firstborns are successful in school, sports and careers.

    This being a perfectionist is sometimes too much for me. When I do something if it's not perfect then I have to redo it over and over until I am satisfied. I find it to be a fault, in my case. It's become like a bad habit sometimes.

    I'm first born..but there are 4 of us so I wouldn't know whose middle. 4yrs older than one of my brother..six years than my sister and 8 yrs than my baby brother


    It was nice getting my way and what I wanted for a while

    Hi @Elsa, I am also a firstborn and have many of the described characteristics. Some characteristics are still present today, others weakened when I started my own family. My husband is an only child.

    What I am told again and again today:

    • punctual
    • fast in completing tasks
    • reliable
    • good knowledge 
    • high ability to analyze things

    Maybe in my early youth I was also bossy or leader. As I said, in the course of life some things are relativized
