My mother was born on Halloween, but if she could see and communicate with spirits, she never let us know. Perhaps this is the basis for the Ghost Whisperer television series!

Never knew there was such a thing until I read this online today...

This Is Halloween Trivia related to the small town that I live in, Port Alberni on Vancouver Island BC Canada.

The Halloween tradition here is rather unique:

It's a 40 minute drive along a lake, through an old growth forest, and up and over a mountain to get to and from Port Alberni.

After Halloween people place their used pumpkins all along this two lane highway. There are literally hundreds of pumpkins - on stumps and rocks, the roadsides, on signs and posts, in trees, on logs, etc - it's a beautiful thing. But the best part is the pumpkins aren't there for us. They make a delicious Halloween treat for the many species of forest animals that live here!
