Try making Denize!

Last summer, Inside Out 2 captivated the world and became the highest-grossing animated movie in the world. To honor this moment, here's Denize cosplaying as one of the new emotions in Riley Andersen's mind…Nostalgia!
Nostalgia, as the 10th unique emotion to appear in Riley's mind, actually gets VERY little screen time in this sequel to Inside Out, and I actually thought about Denize cosplaying the big head honcho of the emotions, Joy, and calling the work "A Different Kind of Joy Luck Club", in reference to the Amy Tan novel The Joy Luck Club. But Nostalgia and Denize can both be described as sweet elderly women, so it would make more sense for Denize to cosplay as Nostalgia and give her a bit more limelight. I have taken the pains to translate Nostalgia's colors and outfit to Denize's body, but had to remove some details due to time constraints. Nevertheless, you will like what I have here!

The Force was strong with Denize, but not with her husband, for he decided to cosplay as the legendary Mandalorian warrior Din Djarin, from the first long-form live-action Star Wars TV series, The Mandalorian!
Today marks the 5th anniversary of The Mandalorian, which launched on Disney+, Disney's streaming service. This series captivated audiences across three seasons chronicling a warrior defending the galaxy from the remnants of the defeated tyrannical Galactic Empire while maintaining his honor, and he became well-known in some circles as the raddest dad in the galaxy in his protection of the alien Force-sensitive child Grogu. To celebrate this, I had Mr. Dragon, Denize's husband, cosplay as Din Djarin, as a counter to Denize's Jedi costume in her favoring of Force sensitivity. I've taken pains to faithfully translate Din Djarin's full beskar armor as seen in the series onto Mr. Dragon's long body, including his helmet, and even went on to show him holding his Amban phase-pulse blaster, a prime weapon of choice in his arsenal, while flying on his jetpack. As the helmet usually can't cover his long, crocodilian head well, I've widened the helmet's T-visor to let his long jaws stick through it. He definitely looks like someone you don't want to cross!

Denize is known to have her yins and yangs, and her cosplay of Elphaba and Glinda from the new film adaptation of the first act of Wicked, shows it! And yes, she even went so far as to get her scales painted green to fully capture the future Wicked Witch's look.
This was my opportunity to show Denize liking to be witchy sometimes. I also thought that her Eastern origins entailed that she also had some fascination with the balance between good and evil that would draw her to a work like Wicked, and thus I named this work "Yin-Yang Sorceress".

I have once imagined Denize slipping on a denim outfit, namely the one Lara Croft wore in an ill-fated Tomb Raider game. But turns out that she happens to have another cool gamey denim outfit…and it's of none other than Skye from Fortnite!
Amidst the short, but incredible season that is Chapter 5, Season 5 of Fortnite Battle Royale, old and new collide with the return of characters from Chapter 2, Season 2 sporting new looks, along with incredible weapons for maximum destruction. And somehow, Denize, through the unstable rifts of the world of Fortnite Battle Royale, finds herself plunging out of the sky onto the island where it all happens in her Skye costume, and before long, she seizes Eminem's RG Minigun and prepares to lay waste to her many opponents with rapping rapid-fire action and wrap up a Victory Royale, in spite of her massive height making her an easy target…
Note how much effort was made to faithfully reproduce all the details of Skye's costume and accessories - not only just her outfit, but also the Sword of Wonder that is her personal pickaxe used to harvest building materials, as well as her Adventure Pack back bling with the shield. And also, I've also taken pains to depict the RG Minigun from how it actually looked like in the game, and also included four words from the lyrics that play whenever it fires! (Due to the family-friendly atmosphere of Candy Crush Saga, it is with regrets that I have to censor the weapon by changing its ammo to foam darts instead of actual bullets, which also makes clear that this is just another one of Denize's cosplays.)

The Warcraft Games are already underway, and with such an epic multiplayer contest unfolding, it's never complete unless I show Denize stepping up to be the cheerleader! And she's got two special kits for each of the two factions you must choose between to support.
This contest, due to its special and commemorative nature about one of the most iconic video game series now under Microsoft's control along with Candy Crush, demanded some extra upgrades to Denize's cheerleading outfits, making a mere recolor of them insufficient. I had to add in some extra gear for each faction kit to provide some more lively team spirit that fits into the theme of Warcraft. For the red Horde cheerleading outfit, that also includes spiky pauldrons, a belt, weathered, boots, crude gloves and a horned helmet to top things off. For the blue Alliance cheerleading outfit, some pieces of knightly armor, namely a helmet, gloves, pauldrons and boots, to give her a shiny, chivalrous look! With these upgrades, you cannot deny that she has captured the epic struggle at the heart of Warcraft in her cheerleading.

Tomb Raider II was released around this time of the year in 1997, and was known for having an evil Chinese dragon for its final boss. Here's Denize again wearing protagonist Lara Croft's bomber jacket from the game.
While this work was as simple as putting a big jacket over Denize's classic Tomb Raider outfit, there were some caveats I had deal with. First, the pants and boots had to be slightly recolored as they were for the sequel. I also had to make sure that the brown jacket fully covered Denize's stomach and chest, leaving out only one small gap below the base of the neck to show a little bit of that turquoise tanktop. And even though the jacket unzips from the front for the human Lara, I had to skip out the zipper for Denize's version of the bomber jacket, because the dorsal spikes on the back require it to be buttoned up from the back to help her put it on. Otherwise, this is not much different than my take on Denize's cosplay of Lara Croft.

It's Thanksgiving once again, and I have two sweet pieces of Denize fan art to celebrate it happening on a Year of the Dragon!
The first one to show you is a zoomed out look at Denize cooking her Lemon Dragonberry Sauce! And she's cooking it straight out of her lake!
Observe that Denize has to cook this directly while floating in the lake because her arms are quite too short to let her scoop from the lake while standing on its banks. If you're worried about anything icky getting into the lemonade since she's in it, don't worry, the heat of her fire can absolutely cleanse such nasties out! Also, she wears a shorter version of the red and gold apron she wore when baking fortune cookies at Fudge Island with Berry. The reduced length is meant to allow Denize to wear it while in the lake without getting it overtly wet. The background of this picture is meant to resemble a fine, gray fall day, with one tree already turning orange due to the season and ready to shed leaves, since it's already Thanksgiving!
The other piece is Denize's imagined balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that the company annually holds in the streets of New York City:
Every time the parade is held, iconic characters in pop culture become honored as balloons. Despite this game's popularity, it has never got a character immortalized as a balloon throughout a century of tradition. With this year being the 100th anniversary of the parade, and falling on a Year of the Dragon, I could not help but imagine a balloon for Denize that shows her giddily floating about! As she loves to swim, I reason that her balloon has to show her doing that, only through the sky, like how Chinese dragons of legend would do! I can only wonder how people would react to see her long body soaring over the streets on this amazing day.
