Cannot read writing as font is very pale its invisible

I can't read the writing on Blossom Blast Saga.  I updated the app on my Kindle a while ago and the writing became  so pale I can't make all of it out.  It's invisible and I have to guess where the buttons are in order to start a level and can't collect lives from friends as the button has disappeared.  Please help.

I play on an Amazon Kindle Fire.  It's an App so not sure of the IS or the version but it's updated since the problem began but it for worse each time.  I can't even access the lives from my friends now.
