@johamilton the other plus about working is I usually receive 2 or 3 plates while there. After work I go eat again with family. By the time I get home I am so stuffed from all the good food. And I enjoy visiting with family I don't get to see very often

This is a historical political tradition for us in the UK.
However for me it was the day my mother and father first meet.
I grew up with my family making the bonfire and cooking food for the whole of our community, and people contributing to the fireworks.
I remember making cinder toffee and wrapping them in greaseproof paper as a child with my dear Aunt.
For me as a child, it awoke my true Pagan nature. I love my very dear old Church, I also love the history behind that and where we are truly born. We were and are Pagans initially. WE worship the Earth and energies that surround us.

Just me and my daughter, and I tend to cook so much for the Holidays. Especially on Thanksgiving.

Hi Traci, I have read about Pagans and their belief. I find it, shall I say, soothing and calming. Those are the words that come to mind. Sounds like November is a good month for you and your family. 💕

Well, November just starts with celebrating straight into Thanksgiving where my lil family gathers around wary too much food...lol and we keep the excitement going on to see us till Christmas and then we're all excited like a bunch of kids...I am Christmas morning...proudly. 😊

For me Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks for the bountiful food, and family times, where we actually come together as a family to dine at the same table. However, in Fl. The weather is hot all year long, with no autumn leaves, but we have plenty of shade from the leaf of the palm trees😁😎
