It's very common to hear here from players stuck on levels in 18,000+ range though the level people get stuck on varies. Were you in the test group with the multiplier tokens? My leaderboard disappeared as well for no obvious reason in that account with the multiplier tokens. In my experience once the leaderboard disappears and you no longer see the icon on your screen or in your events there is nothing you can do to get the event back.
