Were you in the test group with the multiplier tokens? My leaderboard disappeared as well for no obvious reason in that account with the multiplier tokens. In my experience once the leaderboard disappears and you no longer see the icon on your screen or in your events there is nothing you can do to get the event back.

Anyone else have an issue with the booster wheel not letting you spin? Mine says come back in xxx hours for the next spin, but the next spin never comes. I am so stuck on level 7280 and I need some booster help!!
