Hi @Kerrie, I'm going to mark @hudus and @Amoonmoon for you.
To your question: In CCFS there is an event twice a year where you can earn gold bars. The last event was called "Golden tea party", was in October and you would have received 41 gold bars at the end.
There will be no gold bar event this year.
Alternatively, take part in our competitions. We start one every week (my colleague MountainMom and I always take turns). You can find them here: candy-crush-friends-saga/categories/contests
If you have enough gold bars, you can buy life, lollipops or extra moves in the game. Personally, I wouldn't buy lives. They grow back on their own. If you play on multiple devices, you have 5 lives per device. That's what I do, for example. I have a phone, a pad and Win11, so 15 lives. As I play on another device, lives regenerate on my first device.
I don't get any advertising bands, but I've seen this feature on other players. It is very helpful when you have it.
I have already had life from my friends list, but very very rarely. When I open my game, the first thing I do is send life. I don't know if they ever arrive. I can only hope so.

This one hun. Last time they cancelled this event. I guess it will come back in coming days. They changed this with star race. I remember you were first place in star race. The glitch awards your wining gifts after two days the end of the event. I prefer ice cream cones over star race but recently they didnt bring this event up.

@Kerrie, you can always ask here if you need help for yourself. What do you mean by the new layout? That in the community or in the game? I don't see a new layout in the game, so I think you mean that in the community. Then you are more likely to be right here (the-community-has-a-brand-new-look), because then everyone who is also affected can read it and answer. If I answer you here and it might be interesting for other members of the community, they will miss it.
