Actually people that have reached the last level can and do get the 30x multiplier. The Star Tournament levels at the end of the map, which are quite winnable and neverending, give the same 30x multiplier as new levels, and produce plenty of purple candies. Wow, I didn't realize that. I assumed the time there would be queried from the server every time it was initially displayed and then incremented from there. Although in Windows you could probably still manipulate that, so maybe even that wouldn't work. Oh well, I guess you're right.

If I remember right, last year you could play offline, but if you were offline you didn't get the 30x bonus for purple candies on new levels. So while it was possible to play offline, it should have been impossible to make a run at winning that way, since the scoring would be too low. I don't know if it is working that way…
