Do you have the latest version of the candy crush app? The only reason I can think of why I won't let you pass is because you don't have the latest update with the new levels etc.

Sara, if you check the site you will see that a lot of people lose their boosters when the game updates or when its installed. This is because the game isn't designed to save them. If you win a free booster its always best to use it there and then, that is how the game is meant to work I guess. 

To me, it sounds like the last time you sync'd your game you were on level 50. That's the only possible thing I can think of as to why it put you back to level 50. Did you save your game anywhere else like the 'kingdom' where you higher levels might be saved?

Its just a part of the game that isn't for every player. I've seen a lot of comments on here where there are players who have it and those who don't. Oh and I don't think its on mobile either!

I don't think you're even guaranteed to pass the level if you pay. Of course it helps but its like just getting a good game board another time and not spending any money. Just take some time out and come back fresh.
