Game keeps freezing on iPad 2

I have lost all 5 lives tonight as everytime I start to play the game, it crashes & screen goes back to the main one.  Doesn't matter if I've played 2 turns or 10...getting really old as this has been happening for a couple of weeks.  Help??

Do you have a newer device you could play on in the meantime?

I bet they are working on this, but it might take some time. I´ve seen people here telling this is happening for Candy Crush too on their iPad 2.

I updated to iOS 9.3 on my iPhone and all my games work smooth.
