I've reached the 1800. The 1700 were as bad as 1600. Actually NOTHING is as bed at the 1600. (I hope I didn't speak too soon! LOL) However, I'm still waiting for my boosters to be replaced since I lost a few days from it..
The fish won't drive you as crazy on the 1700 level. Only a few games. I do wish we could control them.
