✨🎈 World Autism Month 🎈✨

G’Day Jelly Crew 😀

Every April is World Autism Month 🥰

No manifestation of Autism, is ever exactly the same in each Individual. Although broad in terms of being across a Spectrum, to simplify in general, nerve cells and synapses are organised differently and therefore process information in a unique way. It is often characterised by difficulties with social interactions and repetitions of behaviours and thoughts.

🎈 The beauty of these remarkable perspectives can be seen, in some famous people you may have heard of 🎈

🎉 Sir Anthony Hopkins (Actor), Greta Thunberg (15 yr old Swedish Activist), Courtney Love (Singer), Dan Akroyd (Actor), Bill Gates (Tech Icon and Philanthropist), Dan Harmon (Writer and Producer), Daryl Hannah (Actress), Susan Boyle (Singer), Steven Spielberg (Director and Screenwriter), Anne Haggerty (The Governess - The Chaser), Kim Peek (the Savant who inspired the film Rain Man) 🎉

As this subject is close to my heart, here's a Competition to Celebrate and support, these wonderful people and those who we may know personally, with Beautiful Minds, like those above!!😀

✨🎈Competition How - to's 🎈✨

Nothing too hard! Just post a gif, pic, comment of support or a positive word of encouragement related to this topic, the people above or someone you know. 🥰

😃 As always be kind, be considerate, be humorous and have a little fun in an upbuilding manner! 😃

🎁 5 Winners will be given 25 Gold bars for their Game 🎁

Competition Closes 30th April 2021

    Hello @channie8

thank you for the tag, the 2 famous people who really I would like to mention are:

    Albert Einstein:

Perhaps the most famous scientist and mathematician in history, Albert Einstein had a number of interesting and possibly telling characteristics. For one, he had trouble socializing, especially as an adult. As a child, he experienced severe speech delays and later echolalia, or the habit of repeating sentences to himself.

    and Satoshi Tajiri

As a child, He was fascinated by insects and was even nicknamed “Dr. Bug” by other children. As an adult, Tajiri turned that interest into the world-wide phenomenon that is Pokemon — which itself makes him an inspiration to millions of children (and adults!) around the world. But Satoshi Tajiri is also on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum and he does not talk about it in public, choosing instead to let his many accomplishments speak for themselves

Research has come very far in helping those who struggle with this. Kuddos to them!

Hi @channie8 thanks for tagging me.

I don't know much about autism. That's probably because I've had very little contact with it so far. But I know that autistic people can have amazing abilities and are special people.

We have such a special person here in the Community. I would like to call her so that she can perhaps say something from her point of view, if she wishes. @BlueberryCupcake

I support your idea that here in Jelly we pay tribute to these special people.

    Level 3

I know one or two people in my personal life who live with Autism and I'd like to dedicate this comment to them. They are all strong-willed individuals who deal with being on the spectrum in their own way.

@channie8 thank you for for this beautiful thread. I have worked with kids that have various forms of autism. There is nothing like that feeling when you finally find a way to help them connect to the world.

    Level 2

Autism gets a bad rap. People automatically think they are retarded or slow and they are some of the smartest ppl out there. They just have trouble communicating and socializing smh. Please give them.a break and treat them like normal people!
