Thank you. Somehow it seems familiar to me now. Only I had never dealt with it and therefore hadn't had it on my radar. All is well. That's why we know a lot of what was done that wasn't right and violated the house rules at the time.
Hi! The situation on the support areas is as following:
The first post "answering" the question gets automatically +2 points by the system, regardless of the post's content!
For example, someone who navigates in the Community looking for unanswered threads into the support areas and leaving a simple post, e.g. "good morning", gets +2 points!
The accepted answers is something different! The points here are much more and they are increased "dramatically" as someone gets more accepted answers! (answer!)
The member who posts the question can accept as many answers in his/her question as he/she wants!
When there is not an accepted answer in a thread, only the second post (the first after the question) gets +2 points! 🙂

I don't know if you click on "yes" to the helpful answer, you get +2 points. There's a list of points somewhere.

In this support thread, the second post is "typically" the "answer" to the question of the first post and gets the +2 points of "answering".
I don't know if there is any way of this rule to be corrected.
