Yes, unfortunately this is happening many times to many players! The more possible answer is that your friends in Jelly are not active any more!
If you connect to Jelly with facebook it is possible to add more friends to Jelly, adding new facebook friends who also play Jelly!
If you connect using other method, then the game ads random friends, so you cannot have any control on this!
