Check that you have the latest game and device updates.
Restart your device.
Check you have enough memory on your device. (2GB free)
Clear Cache. If you are using Android - go to Settings. Tap on Apps. Tap on Candy Crush Soda. Tap on Storage. Tap on Clear Cache (Please, make sure not to select data!)
If you are using iOS - Tap on Settings. Tap on Safari. Tap Clear History and Website Data

After I bought 50 coins I passed level 1228, however the game did not advance to 1229. I tried force close and then restarted my iPad but am still on level 1228.
